2026GMBPF Concludes Today, Having Attracted Over 90,000 Visits During Four-Day Fair
MACAU, August 10 - The 2026 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair (2026GMBPF), jointly organised by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute of the Macao SAR and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, concluded successfully today (9 August). Over the four-day Fair, more than 90,000 visits were recorded, including approximately 1,600 trade visitors. Over 460 business matching sessions were conducted, and 49 co-operation agreements were signed, around 90% of which were related to the “1+4” industries. Nearly 30 enterprises from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Chinese mainland signed project intention forms for investing in Macao or expanding into Portuguese and Spanish speaking countries. Through a series of professional business matching sessions, forums and promotion activities, the Fair successfully brought together consumer spending and industry co-operation opportunities, facilitating the signing of co-operation projects while also laying the groundwork for subsequent investment implementation and industry chain integration.
Record participation brings over 10,000 quality products together for one-stop shopping
This year’s Fair covered nearly 13,000 square metres, with participation increasing by more than 10% year on year to reach a record high in its 18-year history. Of the 459 exhibitors from different domestic and overseas markets, nearly half were participating for the first time, while the number of participating Macao enterprises also increased by 30%. The six exhibition zones brought together over 10,000 quality products from Guangdong, Macao, and countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”, covering smart products for the silver economy, healthy living, food and other categories. There were also many brands and products making their debut in Macao, offering visitors a diverse range of shopping choices. Several exhibitors and purchasing representatives noted that the Fair featured a wide range of products with strong market competitiveness, with notable results in both on-site sales and follow-up procurement discussions.
One visitor said that the Fair featured brands rarely seen in the local market, including halal food and health products, and that he had spent a four-figure amount. A Macao enterprise participating for the first time said that sales performance had exceeded expectations. The Fair’s theme closely matched its products, successfully attracting many elderly customers and their families to place orders on-site and significantly enhancing its brand promotion and sales performance.
Focusing on new opportunities in the silver economy and building an integrated wellness industry ecosystem
To meet the development needs of the silver economy and wellness industry, this year’s Fair closely followed the theme “New Opportunities in the Silver Economy, A New Chapter in Healthy Living”, with two dedicated exhibition areas — the Smart Senior Wellness Experience Pavilion and the Healthy Living Zone — bringing together enterprises and organisations involved in wellness services, senior cultural tourism and related sectors. A number of professional forums on topics including silver technology, elderly-care finance and cultural tourism were also held during the Fair. Among them, the Hengqin–Macao Forum on the Integration of Cross-border Elderly Care Services was organised under the “Multi-venue Events” model. Three business matching sessions related to wellness and the silver economy were held over the four-day Fair, creating a one-stop industry exchange platform and promoting the integration of innovative wellness technologies with elements such as healthy cuisine and cultural tourism from different regions, thereby facilitating cross-regional collaborative development.
Several enterprise representatives from Guangdong, Shenzhen and other regions said that they had established concrete intentions for co-operation through the Fair platform and were interested in pursuing follow-up investment in Macao and Hengqin and expanding big health-related services.
Expanding the “Belt and Road” network and unlocking halal industry opportunities
This year, the “Belt and Road” Products Zone welcomed Pakistani exhibitors for the first time, expanding participation to six “Belt and Road” countries and bringing together more than 100 enterprises.
In response to the substantial demand for halal consumption in Macao as an international tourism city, the number of exhibitors with halal certification more than doubled compared with last year. The Fair also organised the Chinese Cuisine and “Belt and Road” Spices Business Matching Session, the “Belt and Road” Business Matching Session, and the Halal Products Business Matching Session, helping establish two-way channels connecting South Asian food ingredients with the Guangdong and Macao markets. Domestic and overseas exhibitors generally noted that the dedicated matching sessions were efficient and highly targeted, providing practical channels for entering the Greater Bay Area market and reaching international customers.
Diverse supporting activities extend the Fair’s value and expand its online and offline reach
To make full use of exhibitions’ ability to efficiently bring together visitor flows and information flows, a number of themed promotion sessions were held during the Fair. The briefing session on the “Scheme for Supporting the Development of Macao First-Store Economy” attracted more than 40 enterprise representatives, while the Scheme received more than 60 enquiries over the four-day Fair. The Promotion Conference on Enterprises Expanding into Portuguese and Spanish Speaking Markets analysed the market potential of Portuguese and Spanish speaking markets and provided practical information on overseas expansion, attracting more than 60 enterprise representatives to attend and make enquiries.
In addition, the Fair also emphasised online-offline integration by organising a number of live-streaming promotions and community guided tours. During the Fair, a total of 90 live streams were conducted, covering more than 300 exhibitors and promoting over 1,500 products. The total number of views across all platforms exceeded 7.5 million. The organiser also arranged community guided tours, taking business visitors on visits to distinctive Macao shops and cultural and tourism resources. The tours helped deepen their understanding of the business environment in local communities and promoted the integrated development of the community economy.
